Prior to the birth of her second child Claire sought treatment through Reflexology. ‘I recognised that I was close to burn-out due to personal and work stress, dealing with a recent close family bereavement, grieving husband, young child and work demands. My mind and body were not in a good place. It was through a friend that I was introduced to Reflexology. She kindly suggested that I could benefit from the relaxation benefits of reflexology which in return may help me cope with stress. I was forever grateful for this advice. I booked a session with a local practitioner. I really looked forward to my treatments, as after each one I would feel relaxed, sleep more soundly and I benefited from prioritising my own wellness for that one-hour appointment each week. Six months later I was pregnant with my second child and had a keen interest in reflexology. I was encouraged to make small changes in my life. I introduced Yoga, cold water swimming, breathing techniques, meditation and Reiki and recognised the importance of wellness and stress management. It took a good number of years for my interests to develop into a passion to become a practitioner of reflexology’.

Claire began her Reflexology training with Body in Balance in 2020 and gained her Professional Practitioner Qualification from the Bayly School in 2022. She is also training in Indian Head massage and Reiki with Mariette Lobo at Body in Balance Training. It is also her goal to gain a certification in Aromatology and with her experience as a chemist and love of plants, to grow, extract and blend her own essential oils to use during her treatments.

Claire practises from her therapy cabin which also has a covered outdoor garden room, in the Scottish Highland Countryside on a small croft near Tain. Weather depending, Claire offers treatments outdoors, surrounded by nature. This has worked well during the Covid-pandemic where ventilation and social distancing requirements are vital. Claire is registered with the Complementary and Natural Health Council (CNHC) and is a member of the British Reflexology Association (BRA). She is also Covid-19 compliant demonstrating a VTCT (ITEC) Level 2 Award in Infection Prevention (COVID-19) for Complementary Therapies and Sports Massage
